Palawan Beach

There are many great island destinations in the world, from Cuba and the Caribbean to Sentosa in Singapore and of course Boracay in the Philippines itself. Islands have a certain something special that everybody can relate to, even if they grew up in the middle of a large continent like North America, Europe or Asia.
Some islands have hotels, resorts and offer the vacation of a lifetime because of the five star service and comforts they offer. Other islands are remote and isolated allowing their natural charms to continue without threat from unimpeded development. Few manage to balance ecologically sound development with world class standards of accommodation and still offer pristine beaches and teeming rainforests.
Palawan does. Palawan has a modern, vibrant provincial capital, Puerto Princesa that is surrounded by bays and mountains still as found by the first men to set foot there. To the north the island resort has become something of an art form with a range to choose from that is unequalled in the region and rarely matched anywhere in the world.
It is, of course, the beaches that draw the most attention. White, pristine and stretching for miles, framed by emerald green coconut palm fringed forests and bordered by azure blue seas reflecting skies of the lightest blue. Siloso beach, Tanjong beach and one of the finest of them all, Sabang Beach. Sabang is adjacent to the World Heritage listed underground river. Those who wish to explore this contender for the new 7 Wonders Of The World stay at the nearby luxury Sheriden Resort.
Travel packages are available that combine air and land content, accommodation and even dive trips and eco-tourism.
